There's something astir in the leafy
lanes of old England! A sexual revolution is taking
place behind net curtains in England's sleepy villages
and all is revealed in the site The
Village Ladies. Think of the
film Calendar Girls and you've pictured what
Village Ladies is all about - but better because the
pictures are more candid.
The Ladies: The
ladies are of every type of background and almost all
are genuine amateurs. "Beauty is in the eye of
the beholder", as the bard put it, and these women
range from ordinary to maturely good looking. More
important though, they all have a sparkle
in their eyes. You can tell they've really
enjoyed being cheeky and taking part in this extraordinary
web site. Ages range from 35 to 60 (apart from a couple
of daughters who join in). The most popular job is
healthcare/nursing with teacher/lecturer next. There's
an accountant, a lawyer, an electrical engineer, a
cook and a gardener. Some are semi-professional models
but most are first timers. There's a couple of
ladies who were professional models some 30 years ago
and have come out of retirement to appear on the site.
Content: Almost
all the photo content is home grown by the site's webmaster.
Over 150 ladies feature in solo, duo, triplet and even
one quartet photo sessions in an archive of nearly
80,000 images.
Updates: up to 8 village ladies and
300 pictures added weekly.
Let's face it - do most of us
older guys really want to go out with a young woman?
They might look
good but most of the girls I know go clubbing several
nights a week, can drink most blokes under the table
and some have the manners of a barrel of ally cats.
Now that doesn't mean I don't like looking at 'em.
They look lovely walking down the street on a sunny
day with their firm, curvy figures, lovely hair and
clear skin but - and it's a big but - they don't often
have the warmth, depth and charm of the older woman. In the immortal words of the English
poet Rupert Brooke:
Say, is there Beauty yet
to find?
And Certainty and Quiet kind?
Deep meadows yet, for to forget
The lies, and truths, and pain? ... oh! yet
Stands the Church clock at ten to three?
And is there honey still for tea? |
