Guide2Porn set out to investigate these claims by signing
up to XonDemand.com - one of the largest Video On Demand
(VOD) sites on the internet.
The
Video on Demand concept: For those of you who
haven't met the concept of pay-per-minute porn it is
just as it says. You only pay for the time you're actually
viewing the movies of your choice. There's no monthly
sign-up charge to join a VOD site.
There are several advantages and, some
would say, disadvantages of buying your porn this way. |

Let's face it. Many of us spend ages downloading whole movies
only to find they're not as good as we'd hoped.
Then there's the fact that we join a membership site and

So that's the process explained. What about the content?
The content: XonDemand
is one of the most mega of mega movie sites with nearly 20,000
movies available. 750 studios contribute movies to the
site. There's a huge range of content across 5 main sections: Straight, Gay, Lesbian,
Fetish and Voyeur.
I won't even begin to list the fast range of genres
available within these sections. The site claims 130+. You can explore
the genres without creating an account with XonDemand.
You can sort the movies in each category by Newly Added, Popularity, Title
and Release Date. You can view
most films in either Real Player format (you’ll need to choose the optimal
speed for your computer) or Windows Media (optimal speed is automatically
configured for you). You’ll need to enter your user name and password
before being able to watch a movie. The Pros and Cons: We've listed the pros
for joining a VOD site like XonDemand. If VOD is your preferred way to
buy movies then XonDemand is undoubtedly a sure bet for range and quality
of content. With regard to the cons, however, some surfers
prefer to save their content to their hard drive. They can look at it when
they want, for as long as they want. If you haven't got a fast connection
that may be the best option. I suspect though that many movies once downloaded
hardly ever get watched again, if ever. They just clutter up the hard
drive. Pornography is essentially ephemeral. It's viewed, used and discarded.
Site functionality: the site is very
professionally designed but simple to use. We liked the help information
- both in terms of how VOD works, and how to use it, but also how to
view the movies with clear explanations and links to necessary downloads
like the latest version of media player or whatever.
